Aitana Ratier Werbin, Málaga, Spain /  June- August 2021

I did my summer internship during June -August 2021 at Heskia-Hacmun Law Firm in Tel Aviv.

During my time at the firm, I was given a variety of tasks to complete, including: assistance to write legal memos, prepare documents for lawyers, provide legal research and communicate with clients. The interns are fully incorporated in the daily work of the partners and associates. Although knowledge of Hebrew is not necessary, it may help to enrich the experience. I enjoyed the challenge of learning Hebrew legalese.

Moreover, I was glad to be involved in all of the firms’ fields of activity. In this context, I also had the opportunity to join many court hearings and get unique insights into the Israeli law system and Israeli procedural law. In this sense, I was taken with the associates to attend to the Magistrates Court in Jerusalem (Beit Mishpat haShalom) which was a remarkable experience, having never attended court in another country before. Then further into my internship I attended the District Courts of Law in Tel Aviv and Lod.

By far the best part of the experience was working with an outstanding team. The lawyers are incredibly kind and I felt at home from the first day on.

I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to work with wonderful people, gain great practical experience, and contribute to the firm in a meaningful way. I am confident that I will be able to profit from everything that I have learned and experienced here in my future career path.
