Education: LLB Nottingham Trent University; Legal Practice Course, Public Legal Service Route at College of Law, London Languages: English
I worked as an intern at Heskia-Hacmun Law Firm between March –July 2009 and I feel I became part of the team immediately, including working with interns from France, the USA from New York, LA to Chicago and Israeli interns.
Throughout my stint at Heskia Hacmun I was given a variety of tasks to complete, including: research tasks, reviewing contracts/translated documents, assisting in writing letters in English and attending court hearings. For example, on my first day at the office I was taken with the associates to attend a local court hearing, which was a great experience, having never attended court in another country before. Then further into my internship I attended the District Court for a Class Action case, involving over 70 defendants.
I was nervous at first that because I cannot speak Hebrew I would not be able to communicate and work well within the team, but everyone was very accommodating and able to provide me with tasks to complete in English.
The office itself is ideally located in the Azrieli centre of Tel Aviv and just a bus ride or short walk from the beach and the main streets of Tel Aviv. The office also has an amazing view across the city.
Everyone at Heskia Hacmun was always very helpful and encouraged me to experience the country and go to the sea. They were always prepared to give me advice and assist me in making plans for trips I wanted to take across the country. The internship was very flexible and allowed for me to travel to many places across the country above and beyond those, which the program I was enrolled upon took me to. Including: Tiberias, the Kinneret, Netanya, Eilat and Herziliyah.
I am thankful for the opportunities and experience that Heskia-Hacmun Law Firm has given to me and hope that I will be able to take all that I have learnt here and put it to use in my future career path.
