My summer at Heskia-Hacmun Law Firm was one of the best career choices I have made. I went in to HH as a first year law student, not quite sure of which practice area I wished to pursue. Immediately, I was made part of the team, put to work on research projects, translating contracts, writing contractual amendments and going to court. The challenging legal tasks I was assigned and the advice that I got from working closely with everyone in the office greatly helped point me in the right direction.
One of the major perks of working for HH was getting the chance to live in Tel Aviv and work in the Azrieli Center. The office is perched high above the city with beautiful views of Israel. Tel Aviv itself is an amazing city that is full of life. The streets buzz with people having coffee with friends at cafes, donning their bathing suits for the beach and walking their dogs along the tayelet (boardwalk). Tel Aviv is also a great jumping off point from which I was able to visit all other areas of Israel as well as Egypt and Jordan. The team at HH was always flexible and accommodating, making sure that not only did I get a good legal experience, but also a rich cultural experience.
I was also lucky to have the opportunity to work with interns from all over the world. In my time at HH there were interns from England, the United States and Israel working with me side by side. This added to my experience because not only was I learning about the Israeli legal system, but I was also able to compare it to systems from all over the world. I know that the contacts I made at HH will stay with me throughout the duration of my career.
I was truly inspired by my internship at HH and would recommend the experience to future interns seeking to gain an insight into the Israeli legal system. I would like to thank everyone once again for such a great time!
