Katharina Kuenne, Germany / April 2016

Katharina Künne

Hamburg, Germany

I had the opportunity to complete my mandatory month-long internship during my second year of law school at Heskia-Hacmun law firm in Tel Aviv, Israel.

It was my first time in Israel and my first internship outside of Germany. Looking back, I can say that both decisions led to the best four weeks I could have asked for.

Heskia-Hacmun law firm is specialized in several fields of civil law, but I mainly worked on questions of heritage law and contract law. Not being able to speak or read Hebrew was not a boundary, especially as everyone in the office is very helpful and always makes time to answer any questions. I also visited a court hearing and attended a conference hosted by the German Chamber of Commerce in Tel Aviv.

The team at Heskia-Hacmun was incredibly kind and I felt at home from the first day on. There are always several international interns. Also, the law firm is located right next to the beach promenade, great for spending lunch breaks on or having a relaxing time after work, and in the center of Tel Aviv. It is close to everyone’s heart here that you have the chance to travel around the country and get an insight into Israel’s unique society and traditions, which made my stay very worthwhile.

All in all, I am grateful to everyone at Heskia-Hacmun Law Firm for having me and will definitely be back to spend more time in this beautiful country.
